WHY AMERICA'S ECONOMY FELL OFF THE CLIFF
John Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled it with GAS (MADE IN SAUDI ARABIA ) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA). John decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL), poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA,,,
AND NOW HE'S HOPING HE CAN GET HELP FROM A PRESIDENT (MADE IN KENYA).
Cheers Vince

That would be funny if it wasn't so true!!
By the way, I just read that sheetrock made in China was found to have too much sulfer in it, causing various problems including corroded house wiring that could cause fires. Why in the heck do we keep buying stuff from them?!?!? Around my home we are trying to avoid any Chinese products, especially food related!

Yep...same here Punkin.
When I heard that it was not uncommon for the Chinese market gardeners to use human excrement on their vegie gardens. EEEEeeeewwwwww
Nope, no Chinese products for me. Its just unfortunate that the Govt has an arrangement with the Chinese Govt that allows so many imports into the country.
I have no doubt that industry in China is as good as anywhere else in the World...but they are more interested in churning out a cheaper quality product in order to raise profits levels.

Too true, too sad.

Not to harp on this China thing but... Today I saw that the European Union released a report that says that 60% of the "dangerous" products they've found came from China, while 20% came from inside the EU. It didn't say where the rest came from.

Each of us should buy American, when we can. It might cost a few more cents, but it might save a few dollars in Taxes.

Vince,
You left out one important fact. The Socialist Democrats talked the economy into the dirt for about 7 years, to convince the voters that they need to take back the Senate, House, and White House. The sad thing is that the voters fell for it.

Cary, now we get to see if they can fix it, and it appears they aren't.
