Well 'mitri, first off I'm an 8 year Army Veteran with Special ops training to include weapons and what each branch of the military used at that time and experience as a unit armor in Korea. Is that enough authority on the subject?

D.

Since I was not assigned to the unit when the sights were changed or what ever went on I cannot tell you if it was a contract or experiment or E.T.

It would have to have been unit armorer or even depot level, I don't know don't really care where they came from.

I don't know if it was only our Company's sidearms, the whole Battalion's or even the Brigade's sidearms.

I do know the sights were different then what you so generously pointed out as the only sights on a govt colt.

As far as quoting about our modifications to the Bradley's use the whole quote. Weather it was regulation or not we were forced to make mods to accommodate all the ammo, missiles and person gear we had to haul. It was Department of Defense contractors taking notes and pictures of the mods. Necessity is the mother of invention. Who would know more about the mods needed then the soldiers that operate and live out of the equipment.

We're going to have to go our separate ways on this one as you are not going to convince me that I was dreaming while I was on active duty.

Sorry there isn't anything that floats my boat (that would be the Navy) I'm an Army Tanker and 72 tons of M1A1 don't float. Smile

It strikes me kind of funny that Mr. Brittanica can set here and quote all kinds of statistics but yet hasn't spent a single day in uniform. And then basically tells those of us that have been there that we don't know squat.

Thank you Hoffy. I was trying to be nice, but it seems like it wasn't helping. I understand what is written but I don't like being called a liar, I know what was in my hands. Smile

Your welcome Wiersy. Someone had to say it. I too know what was in my hands. It was just like the G.I. model by Springfield and my M16 wasn't made by Mattel either. It just felt like it. I'd rather have the M14.

My guess is the "Mattel" story was a misinterpretation by someone who didn't understand. wtf

Heey English Mike, I agree whenever someone asks me for an opinion on a first pistol I always bring up a 75 based design the simplicity of operation combined w "growed on ya" ergonomics is lethal. Wanna see my B.H.P. ? I'll wait for a response out of respect for Bushy's sensitive eyes.

BHP was the first handgun I fired a LOT & I guess muscle memory comes into play even after more than 30 years.
I first fired the 75B & 97B three years ago & the 85 last year (I'm left handed) & am sold on them.
It's a pain having to travel 5,000 miles to shoot handguns - funny how the US government trusts me more than my own........

I don't think it has anything to do with trusting us!!! They're still trying to find their way around such things as our Constitutional Rights!!! Mad
