PointBlank v2.0 wide Beta test starting Friday!
Hello everyone,
I've spent a bit of time trying to wrap up some of the final loose ends in the program... and realized that if I don't just set a release date I'll noodle with it forever. So, baring any major catastrophes, PointBlank v2.0 Beta will be released to everyone sometime Friday.
This is still a beta version so expect a few minor issues and hiccups. But hopefully with more eyes on it those can get identified and resolved quickly. I expect a week or two of beta testing before we go live with a final release candidate.
The program now has an online updater component so any new fixes or updated databases can be immediately sent to users.
More info will be forthcoming as the week progresses.

I love computer stuff and yours is full of a lot of things I tried to do on my own. It's fun to compare one bullet versus another. I hope to get a chronograph some day. This program will be a big help.

Greetings Dallan,
After taking the time to review, I only have one comment on the beta version. It would be nice to be able to print a singe form that has the targets, trajectory table, load data etc as is found with the original PointBlank.
A pleasant upgrade from the first edition is the ability to create multiple targets for any given load. On top of that, if you make your own targets, you can add it to the list of available targets (as I did).
Unfortunately, my version expired today.
Is it possible to get this beta version extended?
Best regards,
Aaron

alogan,
I am very happy with being able to print just one form or table.
I HATED all the data on one page. It was too limited a printout (for my use) and it was hard to find the data I wanted.
Now you can have all the information you want but just on separate pages.
I keep my load records on one page and the ballistics table on the next. I do this in a three ring binder and have records that go back more than 30 years. (I have loads that they don't make powder for anymore)

PaulS,
I am relatively new to the reloading thing - and started doing the same thing. I started putting my custom loads on record and it was convenient (at least for me) to see all the info on one page.
Wtih PBv2.0; I must admit that I like the paperless approach and having a database that can recall targets fired in the past. In fact, this is what I love the most about the new version. (Also, I created a targets in Excel, copied the images and saved as a .bmp file, and now my target records are EXACTLY what I am shooting at! AND I can upload the target shot informaiton while on the range.)
Thanks for the comments!

Yep, having targets on file is great - I just cut down the target to fit in the book and keep it. That way I can chart changes over a long period of time.

Greetings Dallan,
Great work on PB2.0 beta. I really appreciate the convenience and utility of the software. It really makes tracking your loads so much easier. Any update on the availability of the next release?
