maybe throw on a little "snail" pumpin' about 12 -14 psi...talkin' good horsepower there mate ... saw a MGB GT

My 240 Wagon is now a TurboBrick. I did a the conversion about a year ago. Only at 8 PSI though with stock cam. 10PSI split some hoses. It runs so nice I'm going to leave well enough alone and not install a turbo cam. Sold our '67 MGB GT and my wife is still letting me know how that displeased her 10+ years later.

Reloading is fun, rewarding, and you can set-up about anywhere.

I'd love to turbo my 960...a potential 600hp in there...but the missus won't let me.

You are totally correct about reloading mate....I find it very relaxing and as you say rewarding in that it saves money...I just wish I didn't have so much crap in my garage so I could get near my bench easier and enjoy that relaxation more often. Laughing

Your garage sounds like mine. When I took the body off the MGA, there are parts everywhere. You don't release how many parts are tucked in a small space to make a car, even a simple one like the MGA. I had to build shelves attached to the ceiling to store all the fenders, doors, hood (convertable top), boot (trunk lid), and bonnet (hood). You just have to make a path to your workbench and give all the pieces their own floor space. I often think I should throw some of the old stuff out, but then I'll find a use for something that I've kept for 10 years and that thought fads away.

Another reward of handloading besides cost savings is improved accuracy!

You guys missed it...Last night I processed 500 .38 Special and .357 magnum cases. My bench was a mess for about 6 hours. But it's cleaned up again. Don't you just hate me?

Bushmaster, nice job! Even converted over to wire wheels. It bet it will be another 10 years before I get my MGA done!

Vince, I'd like to see pics of your garage/2-wheelers also!

Has anyone elevated their press above bench height?

No worries I'm easy to get along with. I have the press temporarily mounted about 6" higher but I don't know what to think yet. I got the doors made and sanded yesterday so varnishing tonight. It's to cold to set up the sprayer in the garage so I'm going old school and brushing it on. I forgot how much I hate to varnish. But soon it will be time to move in to the man cave.I still have plans to make a few more cabinets for ammo and hidden gun storage but that is going to wait until we get some warmer weather.

I've actually put a little thought into this since Wiersay asked the question. I can see some benefits to doing this...not a heap...but benefits none the less.

The only hard part I see would be making a stand that is sturdy enough to take the pressures of full length sizing. I think the position of the leverage from the press will be increased on the lower mount points of the stand...but by how much is anybodies guess. Maybe it will be negligible, or maybe it will be significant, but which ever, it would need to be considered.

Rignt now for my test prototype I am using Jack Pine (just because that is what was laying in the shop) 2x6's until I hit the magic height. Once I find the right height I will laminate plywood pieces to the right height then cover it on all sides with Formica to make it look nice. I do think it will take some reinforcement between the counter top and cabinet, but I think I have that figured out already. Just got to take it for a test drive.
