So after a VERY long delay, me getting upset and causing a sh*t storm about it it appears my radio will be in the mail this weekend.
So anyone use CB/11m radios?

I used to use one in my car... It is sitting in the Muskrat right now waiting on a bit of work to get it back on the road.

In this land of Oz,
The 27MHz (11m) radios are not much being used anymore, nowadays it is the UHF (477 MHz) radios that is being used a lot.
I always have UHF in my cars (both handheld units and bolt on unit) and in my workplace (24HR set on CH16)
And now I get a HF (2 - 25MHz) radio with the "new" car I bought, I wouldn't have a clue as yet how to use it.
Maybe someone could direct me to where I could find a user guide for a Barrett SB225 HF radios?
It would be a great asset to be able to call for Flying Doctor on emergencies.

I've got a decent CB but never installed it in the car. I wonder how much they are being used these days?

I don't anymore but in the late 80's was into it big time !!!
Had a Uniden Grant, 2 sets of uppers a set of lowers, full slider, Roger beep, Roger K, Frequency counter, all tuned to run a 500 watt kicker out a 102" wire whip.
Straight talk 30+ miles on a good day, Shot a lot of skip when conditions were favorable.
All was good until friends started getting knocks on their doors and letters in the mail from the FCC.
One friend had his 50ft. tower with a Wilson 4 element knocked over after his 3rd visit.
It got to the point that they had to get a amateur license to keep from getting into trouble.
At the time I didn't have the money to buy the Ranger radio everyone went to so I got out of it.

I know truckers still use them. Logging companies, our MTO (DMV) etc.
