Went into Cabela's yesterday and it was very busy. Must have been some pre-hunting season sale. The bullet shelf, which was full a couple of weeks ago was half empty. Primers were spotty. So many people buzzing around I couldn't think. I expect it will be restocked in a couple of weeks. Lots of shotgun ammo though.

piutegunnut,

Where abouts are you located? I've noticed powders coming down a bit (Alliant went from $24.99 to $22.99/lb) but primers around me have gone UP to $37/K... Good thing I stocked up when they were $23 to $25/K... Smile

Our local Walmart has large and small, pistol or rifle primers for 3.09 per box of 100, all you want. CCI's.

Now that is amazing! None of our Walmarts carry guns around here in the Dallas Fort Worth Area (DFW). Only a few carry ammo, some only a few boxes or just shotgun shells. In my area only one has a significant size ammo shelf and they got the majority of what ammo that came in when it was scarce. Their shelf is stocked full now but still have the 2 box limit. I travel all over the country and have never seen primers at a Walmart.

W VA must be a special location to be able to sell primers. Do they sell other components for reloading, bullets, brass, powder, etc or just primers?

Some of the rural Walmarts around here sell reloading stuff but the closest to me doesn't.

All three Wal-marts closest to me carry (very limited) reloading supplies on top of ammo and guns. None of the towns they are located in would be considered rural.

I've never seen primers there though.

Our WV Walmarts sell everything for reloading etc., powder, bullets, dies, primers, wads, shot, even the presses. Maybe we have what the other states don't want to fool with or can't, LOL.
