I am too cheap to pay full price for anything when you can get a discount. From Christmas, I have some gift certificates for Cabelas and was going to apply them to a Remington 870 barrel until I checked the prices. They want more for a Remington barrel than I pay for entire used 870 shotguns. Even the Hastings barrels are not cheap unless they are on sale (I bought one on sale).

My local gun shop had an excellent used Remington 870 ventilated rib barrel with a choke tube stuck in it. I got the barrel for $80.00 and brought it home. I soaked the barrel with Hoppes and heated the exterior barrel area with a hair dryer for about 5 minutes. The choke tube came right out and it is a modified tube. What a day. All the best...

Very Happy Yep, the deals are out there. How about this one......a TC Contender Cougar frame, carbine synthetic stock/forend, 21" 223 varmint barrel, Trashco 6x24x50 scope w/flip up covers and a sling for $350. One owner, know the guy, and the guns in 95% plus and is a shooter.
I think that's a pretty good deal myself.
