Stay warm marty! air that cold might cause some bullet stability issues if your twist rate is not on the fast side.

It's the same here in Québec. This morning it was -27 F. The truck was out in the cold all night, but it did start after I talked to it real nice and patted the dash with tender loving care.

I must be in the tropics. It's only getting down to 15* F at night and 35* F in the day time here. But I sure don't see any palm trees.

We're pretty cold here too. 3 degrees when I left for work this morning. Temps will be soaring into the 20's today!

better change your thermometer from Fahrenheit to Celsius. At least you get the feeling that it's warmer in winter and cooler in the summer |
If I did the conversion right, -23 F is -30.5 C Still, pretty darn cold. Right now it has warmed up to to balmy 1 F above zero ( - 17 C ).
The .204 still shoots dead-on tight groups with IMR 4895 powder. I wish I hadn't read the post about the twist rate in the cold. Otherwise, I'd have stayed indoors - like a sane person.
Frost and ice, not just moisture, when I brought the rifle indoors. Shot paper only, though. I wasn't waiting around out there long enough for any game to emerge. I did see a red squirrel burrow out of a snowbank along the side of the road when I drove in to town.

Marty, I got it wrong, you're right. I just had the feeling that when 100 °F is about 37 °C, the °F must be smaller, so the number would be higher. But this is not so on the minus site. I'll try to remember it this time...
Thanks (and also thanks on behave of my big chemistry book that made itself usefull again after many years)

-3 here, but look at the bright side it's a great time to take the superlight rifles out to the range. No waiting for the barrels to cool down.

You boys out east are getting what we had a few days ago. Friday morning it was -32* at 4:30 am, I crawled back in bed for another hour after mama left for work. Now were looking at 20's and maybe even 30's this week.
