Been to see the Ophthalmologist and he did another scan of my eye. He said there has been about a 20% improvement over the past 3 1/2 weeks, which he said is pretty good, so no harpoon into the looking gear. Gotta be happy with that.

I have to go back to see him in about 2 months by which time I'm hoping that things will be well and truly as close to normal as they can get.

Now I just have to get this damn radio therapy done...starts on Monday... so my life can get back to normal and I can get out and bust a few caps. Very Happy

Thanks Punkin...I have a bagful of ready excuses for those dud shots mate, you know, sweat in the eye, a bug flew into my eye...heaps of them mate. Very Happy

Great news on the ocular front! Radio therapy is like going to the beach. Better wear sunglasses, sun screen, and lead-lined undies!

Lead lined jocks eh...sounds scary mate. They tell me that the "beam" will be very specifically aimed, so if it gets anywhere near the dangley bits I'm in trouble. wtf

Kidding, of course. Best of luck with the treatments. You'll be shooting flies off the targets with iron sights before long, mate. Puty a dab of butter or bacon fat on the paper to attract them and have at it.

Way to go Vinnie, you must be doin something right! Hope you're not losin your taste buds, that radiology can get you that way. No it's not a good way to lose weight....good way to be hungry tho. All the best to you..... I had a radiology dance to do for you but I'll send a healing prayer instead.

I saw some video footage of the cyclone that came your way but couldn't tell where Brisbane was, it looked like the storm came from the north of you and it was so huge, I can't believe you didn't get hammered by it. Any nasties to report?

Thanks everybody...the way I figure it, the problems I have a small compared to many other people, so I have nothing really to whinge about.

Thank you for the healing Suz...I am certain it will help mate. There is something very special about the native American and their rites...amazing.

Marty...might get some agile young Nurse to sit on my nether regions and protect them...can't find any lead jocks.

Well, tomorrow marks the halfway point of the 6 weeks of daily radio therapy. To say I am "over it" is an understatement. I'm sure these buggers are doing their best to grow me a second head...certainly feels like it too.

There is no pain associated with the actual treatment, you don't feel a thing...well it is only a very strong dose of x-ray...but the "after effects" are a bit uncomfortable. You end up with something akin to a nasty sunburn. With the amount of raw aloe vera gel (have it growing in my garden) and fancy moisturising cream I have to put on my face I reckon my ugly mug will be as soft as a baby's bum when its all finished.

Anyway, a couple of pics below to give you an idea of what this treatment does to you. Sorry about the quality...my digital camera isn't working so I used my phone to take the pics.

Looks good, Vince! I may have gotten more radiation skiing the last two days at Crested Butte with no clouds to block the sun.

I would have thought that you would have had enough of shooting weak side in the Infantry. I can shoot almost equally well left or right and like your mate said pratice is the key, muscle memory. Good luck on getting your eye fixed and if not there is always the hippy spreader.? lol
