I've been learning Chinese, and due to my monotone voice, its a little harder for me to get the tones right (every sound has up to 4 tones representing each tone as a different word).

But the written language seems to be easier, nothing different then English, all a bunch of symbols, not proper phonetic spelling. But some news paper titles are quite funny:

One that sounds ok, as a literal translation.

"Hu Jintao attended opening ceremony and delivered important speech."

Verses something like this:

"Arrive Ukrainian start process national affair visiting"

or

"Study type party organization learn what"
