Why don't you try to make one yourself? It's amazing what one can do with a Dremel, a file and some sandpaper (or a honingstone)

I have thought about making the part my self. I still want to explore other options first.

Problem solved. I had nothing to do today at work so I made that part in the shop. It works great so far but I haven't fired it yet so who knows.

It fired pretty good. As good as that gun will fire anyway.
AMT Back Up 380
The broken part (right) and the part I made (left)
A little blurry but it grabs the rim perfectly.

Outstanding!
Mucho congratso on a great job well done, that's what I call job satisfaction. I remember when more American's actually fixed and made things themselves, this a perfect example of that!

The best thing is instead of paying for the part, I got paid to make the part.

try hi point. they are making the backup now. Basically the same gun, same parts and all. If they dont have it though, they know people who may. If I could find the damn email they sent me, I would just post the name of the guy they sent. I will if and when I can dig it up.
do you have the broken extractor? You might be able to make one. I know when the firing pin broke in my 45 AMT backup a little while back and I couldnt find anyone with one in stock, I made my own. But that was before I found out Hi Point was making them again. Even though the Hi Point firing pin is smaller diameter, they were able to direct me to someone who had parts. But he wanted around $40 for it, and mine is working fine so I didnt buy one.
