alltough very close to my home, I was not invited and if I were, I would never have joined this hunt. Far too much high society...

and as a joke: 140 men/women to get piggy running, 60 pigs did run and were spotted, 60 posted hunters shot all together 20 shots, result: 1 pig killed (not taken into account the pigs that laughed themselves death afterwards...

Reminds me of a similar idea a Local Govt (City Council) had back in the 60's out here.

A town called Wagga Wagga had a terrible starling problem. The main street is lined with trees and there were thousands of starlings roosting in them. The council asked anybody with a shotgun to come in on a particular day. They provided the ammunition and stood a whole heap of shooters under the trees.

On a given command everybody opened fire and "expended ammunition" into the trees. Many birds were killed, but the remainder, and their kin, were back within the week...crapping over everything again.
