Started working up the load for my Grendel the last time it was above 0*. I have a lot of hope for this gun my loads are IMR 8208, with Hornady 123gr A-MAX, tested at 100 yards in 15* temperature. I guess I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Impressive! Nice work on your load development. Maybe you've posted this, but what rifle, scope and etc.?

This is an Alexander Arms 6.5 Grendel, when I shot the groups I had just a cheap BSA 8-32 scope on it, that has been replaced by a Lucid L5 6-24x50mm I am still in load development as this rifle is capable of 1000 yards.

That is shooting real nice at 100 Wiersay...nice tight groups, with one exception, and very consistent even with small variations in the load.

I'll be looking forward to seeing your results at greater ranges mate.

When the snow starts to go away I will continue load development and start stretching the ranges so I can continue dialing in the load.

wiersy111, nice consistency. What were the velocities? Have you tried CFE223?

I have been hoping that Santa, St. Patrick, the Easter Bunny or any generous character would buy me a crony but no such luck yet. According to manuals and SWAG they are moving at about 2,550 fps.

CFE223 has been pretty hard to find in my area, I tried some in the 5.56 but couldn't find more so I gave up on that.

We should continue to warm up here, so as soon as I get it back from being dipped I will be hitting the range.

I have never truly needed one before because my loads are developed strictly for accuracy. Now I need to add the velocities to figure the long range dope to adjust my scope to hit out to 1000 yards. I guess I will have to invest in a chrony. I just don't want to break the bank.

you might be surprized at velocity variation based on temperature (no joke) plus velocity deviation in a load that is accurate at 100 yaeds can cause significant dispersion at longer ranges.

I've been very pleased witm my ProChrony.
