NO Vince Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed not THAT sort Embarassed Embarassed
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy (sorry couldnt resist Very Happy Very Happy )
took the young fella(now14) and a good mate down the road to harass some of the Aussie over stayers down that way.
weather was great, not to hot but not raining either, the gorse sure has grown a lot since Im not down there every month cutting it back off the track as we did when living in Timaru.
I managed first kill of the day with a hare at 140ish yards falling to the 7.62x39mm and a reload.
we were having a great time sitting on top of main ridge and shooting at wobblies fleeing away from the rocks we rolled down into gullies, mate was using a suppressed .308 and Nathan and I were sharing the x39 taking turns.
Nathan pulled off a great shot at 130ish to secure his first biggish animal and pulled off an even better one later on with a wobbly running around hillside below us 50ish yards away..(I may have been heard to yell something like"just shoot the F&#$EN thing" Embarassed ) he up and bang wobbly went into patch of flax and we waited for it to come out other side..when it did the lads were ready to shoot but I said dont bother as it was tumbling end over end. Nathan went down and carried it up hill so I could skin it out for him, spooked another on way down which I bowled, Mate went over and picked that one up thats him in middle photo. we are tanning Nathans skin for his floor. finished day seeing 35ish animals and managed to shoot 9 wallabies and 1 hare..absolutely stuffed when we got home but smiles all round.

Looking good Elvis...chasing wallabies can be a lot of fun mate. These days I don't bother shooting them...it's too easy, and playing with the smaller ones can be fun.

That country looks pretty hilly mate, too hilly for my knackered knees. How do you tan the skins mate? Do you use a commercial kit or natural bark tanning?
