Yes, just like England did - until it came time to put the stops to that.

You folks need to start an initiative to provide for the same right to defend yourself that animals have - and the right to own a good means to do so.

I think both Aussie and NZ have too much of a colonial streak for the rabid anti hunting brigade to really take over - they have to be bloody careful in NZ because theres such a large hunting fraternity let alone gun users so we should be fine, the Right Honorable Peter Dunne is a Pro Firearms and hunting politician in NZ and I think if you dug deeply enough theres a whole lot of them that have fire guns and would at least support pest control and free range hunting in out Crown owned land for example all the Depot of conservation land which every NZ has the right to hunt without being charged for the privilege excepting firearms ownership - the permits are free and online so thats easy.
Nothing better than going to a bar-b-que when theres some rabid green and watching them scoff the best bits of venison - perfect time for a good old windup aiming at their hypocrisy Laughing

That is a very good speech by Senator McKenzie. It will be interesting to see how the Greens counter this.
