I was recently reintroduced to that thing called "shooting". With the schedule for the past couple of years I'd about forgotten how. My daughter and her boyfriend went with me last Sat. Us guys had fun but I'm afraid we almost exceeded the girl's patience. She wasn't a fan of some of the rifles being fired along the line. Dern muzzle brakes are LOUD, especially under a tin roof.

I got to shoot the Springfield XDs 9mm that I bought a while back and a Ruger AR-556 I got a couple weeks ago. I am an XDs fan now and that will probably become my carry gun after I put some more rounds through it. The Ruger was pretty nice too but I'm waiting on some optics so just plinked a bit with the iron sights (which I have a hard time seeing).

I had loaded about 1k rounds of 9mm on my progressive press and found some high primers. I set those aside and fired them through my SR9 with only a couple "misfires". Those went off on the second try. I'm thinking my technique needs work since most rounds were fine. I did notice that the high primers were in military cases. (For these plinking loads I just used some mixed brass.) From now on I'll sort out the military stuff before starting.
