thats what happens when the little darlings catch pony, groom it ,saddle it up,ride twice around paddock then tie it up while they go have lunch, play etc etc etc then unsaddle it and put it back in paddock weekend after weekend. they get bored....Dads mare BB ( for black beauty or bitch depending on the day) was a cracker for dismounting rider either with awesome buck or riding under a low branch....give her a good belt around the ears and something usefull to do and she was an absolute wonderful pony...she did thing I wouldnt have believed if not seeing it myself. we tied her up and loosened saddle girth while we away for a couple of hours ,we came back and saddle with girth strap still done up was around her reins infront of her!!!! same day coming home with her running free we were driving mob of cattle in front of us....BB beat the dogs to biting any that dawdled too slowly, saw her bite butt of yearling steer and lift its feet off the ground,Dad still has horses that he can trace back to her now 40 years later, most have been great rides.

Horses are just big puppy dogs! Some have attitudes some are a lot of fun and some are lazy. The biggest difference is that I have never had a dog big enough to ride.

Bushy...we called it a "dishonorable dismount" the nag who instigated it would be jumped on by biggest fella around and made to go like stink up biggest steepest hill close by....with sweat pouring off them and well n truely blown they tend to quieten down right quickly after that... or out into middle of soft swampy ground...pretty hard to buck when legs stuck in muck....years since I last got on a hay burner.

My brother used to break horses in the stock pond. It's also hard to buck chest deep in water too. Besides it makes for a soft landing.
