I probably won't be on the nut til after the new year so I wish each and everyone and their families a Merry Christmas and all of the best in the year to come.

talking of eating,
my good wifey is busy making the traditional pavalova and it reminds me of what my sisters did when I was a youngun
apparently they could never get me to shut up...always talking or asking questions...being the youngest of five there was always someone older and wiser whos brains I could pick...well one of them said sisters came up with a cunning plan....knowing the only thing I loved better than talking was eating,and pavalova was right up there at the top of my favourites list....they convinced me that ANY noise while the pavaloa was cooking would make it fall flat...so I being so gullable and believing my older sisters would be very quiet for 2-3 hours......it worked so well it wasnt until some 30 years later that I discovered the truth!!!!!!!!!
you an infact slam oven door halfway through the baking process to make a pav drop flatter....
theres my laugh to you
oh and for you grandparents with naughty grandkids.......
wrap up some empty boxes,shoebox size or smaller and place them under the tree...when kids really naughty throw a present in the fire....if they dont stop throw another.......

Happy Christmas fellow 'nuts.

It's 03:20 on the 24th here & I'm doing the sensible thing & getting my overindulgence in alcoholic beverages done tonight, as I'm on cooking duty Christmas Day.
Managed to get Mum out of hospital (diagnosed as "emphysema" despite her never having smoked or worked where smoke or chemicals were present...), meaning I've a full dinner (including veggie stuff for my sister) to cook on Wednesday, so sobriety is mandatory.

I hope Mum is faring as well as can be expected mate. Give her our regards and prayers for as much of a recovery as can be expected (emphyesma is a cruel disease, albeit treatable).

Good luck with the chef duties mate... a traditional Christmas lunch is a big job.

Well, it’s a wet Christmas for us...but I’m not complaining. We had a big storm tonight that bought about a swift and hurried shutdown of Christmas lights...a big disappointment for the hundreds of people and children who came in to take in the light shows.

I’d like to think and hope that the severely drought affected areas in the west of the State got some of this rain...they desperately need it.
