imrpowder.com/PDF/4007...arning.pdf

What to do:
1. Stop using this product immediately! Fill the powder container with water which will render the product inert and safe for disposal.
2. Mail, email or fax a copy of the powder label showing the lot number to the contact information below to include your name, address, phone and email.
3. Replacement choice of any other IMR smokeless powder product will be shipped to you for no charge.
4. If you have loaded the powder into a cartridge subject to this recall we recommend that you pull the bullets, remove the powder and wet the powder with water for safe disposal

What to do:

Go immediatly to your local gun store and buy all the IMR 4007 SSC with that lot number you can find. Then have the powder you really want shipped to you at no charge.

Hey!! Great idea except for one thing. It's been removed from all the shelves around here [if they had any in the first place]...

Six lots. Seems like someone screwed up really bad. Glad I don't use it but not feeling good about all the other IMR powders in my stock. Going to open every container and check for signs of deterioration. Brown colour and strong acidic smell benig the most observable.

And check your loads too?
I experienced that when powder deteriorates inside a case, the acid attacks the brass making it more brittle and even welding the bullet to the case. When you have a lot of split necks in older loads, take some apart and check the neck of the case and the base of the bullet.
(the powder will also have that characteristique HNO³ smell)
