HOG HUNTING IN GA?

I know some are from Georgia and hog hunt. My wife is from Fulton County and I have to get back there to check on her mother before too long. Can you give me any help on a place to hunt hogs while I'm there and what type of license do you need if any for them? Looking for something that would be fun but not too much money. Not looking for a trophy just a meat hog.

I live in Savannah on the coast. Check out:

Ft. Stewart has some great hog hunting. Some areas are overun with them and the season almost year round. Best time of year for a meat hog will be later in the fall after they've chowed on acorns/mast awhile.

Quite aways from Fulton Cty, though.

Thanks alot! That's a great site. It's about 230 miles in the wrong direction for us but for the costs of a few day GA lic., the $15 day/$40 annual permit this is great. Thanks again.

Checked with the state and you need the big game lic. @ $135/yr or $50/ 2-day for non-res. to hunt hogs. If I could get there a couple of times a year it would still be a good deal. Wife liked the fact that it's near Savannah. She hasn't been there in years.

Will do that. Have to see if I can come up with the extra time and money. The wife will want at least a day or 2 for Savannah if we get over there. I appreciate your help and hope this works out. Looks like a great place to hunt.
