I'd like to know what type of camo you guys are using for hunting. I've been looking at different types and I'm seriously considering going with military BDUs in a multi-cam pattern like the one below. The BDUs are well made and appear to most closely resemble the area I usually hunt. Especially from the Fall to very early Spring. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

what ya' huntin' deer ,turkey ,predators ect

Well in the past year I hunted elk, bison, hogs and wild sheep. You can add deer, turkey and predators to that list, but I haven't been after them recently. Mainly I'm concerned that most camo with green in it just stands out too much when most of the woods is in shades of light to dark brown from the fall until this time of year.

IMHO, Anything that will make you blend into your background works !!! It don’t have to be a camo pattern !!!

Hunters pay way more than what they should and the industry knows it !!!
Stop and think for a moment, when you see another hunter in the woods, how close do you have to be in order to see what type of camo they are wearing ? The hour or so around dusk and dawn make it even harder. When you see another hunter it is usually because they are moving or they have hunter orange on. When they start making camo that hides movement I’ll then consider paying more than I should have too !!!
Until then I’ll wear the cheapest I can buy and I don’t care if the pants don’t match the coat.

Movement and your sent alerts game way more than the color of your clothing. Using what ever colors fit in your back ground washed in UV eliminator is just as good of camo than anything.

I do like the BDU’s for hunting. I have 3 pair of non-camo and one pair in the old military camo that I got on a closeout sale years ago.

now a days i been relying on planned stalk than camo to hide my movements in the bush.

Multicam, works well in different environments, still have not spent the money on a clothing set but got a backpack and the like.

All of the different types of camo, just makes money for the industry.

Marsh grass has gotten big for duck hunting, as well it should, but if a guy wears the old dark camo patterns in the marsh, it does just as good.
You just look like a muskrat house or clump of mud.

In the woods, cover your face and especially moving hands.

No big deal.

wasnt there something in here awhile back about UV on the camo?

I think UV has been discussed here before. Some animals, including deer, can see in the UV range. Most laundry detergents have UV brighteners in them to make whites look whiter, etc. That's one good reason to use the "No scent, No UV" detergents marketed for hunters.

Go for cheap! It's like fishing lures...designed to catch the fishermen rather than fish. But it do look cool!

Anything that will break up your outline, and somewhat blend in with the environment will do. Even the old, red/black check wool jacket blends right nice at a distance.

But; G.I is rugged, and comfortable. Woodland for east, Desert Camo for west, solid Khaki or Olive drab works very well. But! they are EXPEN$IVE! Sooo, On Sale. I got a set of "Open Country" from Cabela's, which, with sale, gift cards and discounts, ran me all of $30. And for less than $20, I got another set from WalMart. Zipper fly, too!

Now, my wife had a blouse, which was black with large red Hibiscus flowers and green leaves on it. It blended really well...better than you would ever inagine. But people looked at me funny

I was photographing the air races at Mojave, Ca. one day, and was wearing a brown and black checkered shirt and tan cords. I was less than 50 yards from the car, and my kids got really upset when they couldn't find dad any more.

Apparently, I blended with the sagebrush and dirt really well.
