I have never seen any recommendation to tumble loaded ammo.
I have done it once - then decided it might not be a good idea - a vibratory cleaner might be ok, but I think I will stick with the method I have.

Whats wrong with just giving them a quick wipe with a paper towel while putting them in to your storage boxes? Why bother with the vibrater after loading? Confused

I just wipe mine with a rag.

I guess my ammo is not as shiny as some others is.

Ok I've been quiet long enough......... why on earth would you want to tumble live rounds if there is any possibility of a discharge????????????? I am clueless as to why you would be willing to take such a chance. I like shiny things, but tumbling live rounds is something I have never even considered as an option. If you really have the need to have the shiniest brass on the range sit down with a rag and a can of Brasso.

Sorry didn't mean to explode. Guess I need a 45-70 Attitude adjustment.

Yup. I just wipe mine with shop-grade paper towels lightly moistened with plain old rubbing alcohol. It cuts all traces of the lube quickly and evaporates too quickly to seep into the powder area from either end of the case. Of course for those who might imbibe, you could always use the drinking stuff so as to have a shot or two while cleaning cases...but then I think there would be a whole lot more problem than just worrying about powder or primer degradation. Shocked

You all worry about that? I got Hornady's lube which claims to not effect brass, powder or primers, should I worry?

Dimitri, I was referring to the original question of cleaning brass of lube by tumbling loaded cartridges causing powder and/or primer degradation. The only worries I have with lube on a case is it can cause pressures to raise a bit, can coat a chamber if not cleaned well and often and (if excessive) can make cases hard to chamber. Besides, I don't like to feel that stuff when I'm loading a rifle! But you have to remember, many of my loading habits got their start way back when the old-style sticky case lubes were all we had and could cause a lot of problems if not cleaned off of loaded rounds.
