try a old kerosine tin or similar 20ltr /3-4gallon or bigger drum with steel sides. cut the top off drum and 3/4 fill with water then add a cup or more of hot fat whats under the sunday roast is good.leave this out by the shed preferable where the dogs cant get to it(doesnt harm them if they do but it wont work without the fat) the rat /mouse will jump in to eat the fat, break through and with greasy paws not be able to climb out and drown. Very Happy

I'm Laughing, because I shot a rat in my basement a few years back. My wife called me at work Yelling "There's a Rat in the basement!!!, I'm calling the exterminator, I don't care what it costs". Shocked

I calmed her down and told her I would take care of it when I got home. I had a box of .38's with bird shot, so I put a plate with a dab of peanut butter on the floor, sat on the stairs, and a couple minutes later the he showed up. BANG! No more rat. It was a little messy cleaning up though.
