Very interesting and unique. Not sure I could get used to a shotgun that looked like a rifle, but an interesting departure.

yip we have them over here too and the one that is an AK saiga I think they call them.
now to pull the design apart!!! ok its a reliable semi
now THROW it to your shoulder with you eyes closed and have alook where you are pointing Shocked ????
most shotguns have your eye inline with the rib, infact thats how all of them work!!! so the sights being 75mm approx above lends itself to problems Sad .
If you have the centrefire version.... and the rimfire version ... and now the shotgun too and you manage to get ALL three stocks to be the same and the poi the same yes it may be great, you can use the .22 out plinking up and bang till you get good then the shotty should follow ok.
just dont turn up to my maimai with one please Very Happy .

Sure, I do. Things I like, price, screw-in choke, chrome-lined barrel, light-weight, no unique operating features, semi-auto, easy to add sights, did I say price already. So OV1, express yourself.

the handle/rear-sight and front-sight can both be removed.

I'm with Elvis,
If it points right and fits well
Why not
The last thing you want to do is to try and aim a shotgun

Maybe a good slug gun as aiming applies or at least I aim slugs. For shot, if you look at a target, swing it up with your eyes closed and if it is pointed more or less at the target it should do okay. I had a very good friend who hunted hares with a Winchester Defender. It fit him so well that he would keep his eyes on the bunny, mount and shoot without even gazing down the barrel. As far as looks, to some it's cool to others it ain't what a shotgun should look like. To me, if its form is functional for you it's wonderful. The birds and bunnies won't care.

Im not totaly against sights on a shotty, my single baikal has a bead up front and a notch filed in the reciever ramp. it gets used as a rifle sight for sitting bunnies or duck finisher, but not when its swing n shoot bum, beak ,bang type thing. looks like a bead could be fitted no dramas aslong as you can get your head down on the stock to" fix" your rear sight so to speak.

Elvis is correct...those sights would put me right off trying to shoot that gun. I shoot, or should I say point, a shotgun with both eyes open...I believe those sights as they are would only be a hindrance.

Apart from that, I suppose it doesn't look too bad, just not my idea of what a shotgun should look like.

That's how your supposed to do it !!!
Looking at the rib or that bead on the end will impede your swing or cause you to stop swinging altogether.
A steady fluent swing is what you want.

Slim, for tactical work I think it would be a good choice for you !!!
I've seen where 3 gun shooters have given guns such as this a try but they've not caught on. Might want to do some checking on why the big boys haven't gravitated to these !!!

I think there's a presumption in this thread about how a shotgun should be shot.

No doubt that you point a shotgun and not aim it......most of the time !!!

Tactical style shotgunning typically implies the use of slugs and buckshot on static targets.

Guys using traditional shotguns often outfit them with some sort of sighting device......personally I kinda like the ghost-ring set up.

I like the idea of the ghost ring sights Chambered...but I would be tempted to try and aim instead of point the shotgun.

What would you say to something like a hologram sight...either switched on or not...use the window surround to "frame" the target. If you have the sight mounted and zeroed correctly, then unless you are using slugs it should put you pretty much on target. Just an idea mate.

I've come to the conclusion that I really never learned how to shoot a shotgun as I've always aimed and never "swing" on a moving target. Guess I'm a rifle shooter at heart. At a young age, I switched from a shotgun to a 22 rifle for hunting rabbits and squirrels. I got tired of finding shot surprise in my dinner. I've done a little dove and duck hunting but was not that successful. I use my Mossberg pump (bead-sight only) at the tactical matches to engage interactive steel and pop-up clay targets. I always aim. Some of the steel targets move on swingers and pin-wheels. A competition skeet shooter joined our tactical match one day and was explaining how the sighting was so much different and the problems he was having adjusting.

This shotgun is marketed for turkey and 3-gun which are basically aimed. Buy nature of its design, your eye is 2.5 inches above the bore so I doubt it would point well with the sights removed. This shotgun has just come to the attention of 3-gunners so it will be interesting to see how well it catches on.

SJ, in my opinion it's wrong to learn shotgunning by aiming or shooting at fixed targets, because then you learn to stop when you shoot. Better practice at moving targets and aim! It may seem that a good shotgunner is not aiming because everything is going so fast, but you can be sure that he's aiming.
Want to practice? Go where you see moving targets (birds, even clay-pigeons) and instead of aiming as you would do with a rifle, just draw a line (with your frontbead) trough the target and as soon as you cross it (reach the 'head'), you pull the trigger without stopping your gun. You can practice with an empty shell or a blanc, so that you don't get kicked when you pull the trigger. But the best way is the clay-pigeon or the real birds and shoot as many times as possible, one time you will actually hit a bird and your mind will keep that aiming-picture for further use.
And attention: claybirds or real birds are 2 completely different things, you can be good at one and bad in the other. A real bird doesn't come on your call and has different speeds, directions and distances.
But draw the line and as soon as you cross the head: pull!
(easy said Smile )
