When I see the different 9 mm's, something crossed my mind: "A 9 mm might expand, but a .45 will never shrink..." There sure has been a lot of effords to help the word "might" a little.

I found mr Google Translator. Thanks Suz. Some pretty strange looking rounds in that collection.

That would be a Mini or was it a Micro? Whisper

Using a slightly necked down 32 Auto case to spit out 200 grains 308 projectile at about 1000 fps.. YEAH.. Lovely... Love

I guess the powder usage would be about 4 grains or less Laughing

Yeah Geland a really tiny thing that's for sure....why a grenade launcher with a tracer element though? or does it do double duty as a puny tracer?

Suz, I think there is a mistake made on the description of the cartridge.
there is nothing 88.9mm in that there cartridge.
The max OAL of that cartridge should be less than 40mm.

I think MacD's comment about tracer is based on the hollowed base of the projectile.
I was also wondering about the same, but, thinking about subsonic projectile you got to think out of the square.
So after some consideration, IMO, the projectile is designed to be front heavy to facilitate higher stability for the projectile in flight IF the twist rate is not fast enough to stabilize it.

it should also expand to grip the rifling better than a conventional base should it not?
Ive seen 7.62x39 loaded with 200grn projectiles to use subsonic with a silencer.

I think so too, since the powder charge is very limited, there may not be enough energy to cause obturation to a solid projectile, a hollow base would help a lot.

BUT if it's grenade launcher (more than a tracer) you don't need obturation or stability in flight. I would say that it's low based charge makes it more of a grenade launcher....but do they put a projectile in a grenade launcher or just a charge (I dunno).

Back in the day (late 60's) they had a Fletchette round for the grenade launcher.
