Dallan,
Glad you went ahead and picked some up. I am positive you will like the results. Let us know when you do make it to the shooting range with them.

1895ss, saw your post and thought I'd respond even though it's a little late. I bought a box of 100 grain TSX's for my 25-06. I loaded them over 55 grains of IMR 4350 and Federal 210 primers (.05 off the lands). Regarding accuracy, I read what Barnes said about how much powder to use so I found the max ( I believe it was in IMR's book - 53.5 grains) and started one grain less. The groups weren't very impressive till I hit 55 grains. Three shots inside each other at 100 yards. I believe Barnes said you should go one to two grains over max. So 55 put me there.
Killing ability, I've shot five deer and one cottontail. The deer were anywhere from 50 yards to 175 yards. The rabbit was at 220 yards. The rabbit was sitting on his haunches at the end of my sendaro eating my deer corn. Hit him on the left side behind the shoulder and it left a hole on the other side about the size of a 50 cent piece (and still left enough to eat). All the critters dropped after being hit except a spike buck that ran about fifty yards and then dropped. All the bullets passed thru.
This bullet doesn't seem to blow up the critters like a ballistic tip does. It goes thru and keeps on going. Remember that if there's something behind what you're aiming at.
Looks like this is going to be my deer bullet, not sure about rabbits though. LOL!!

Thanks heritage1550, that's the kind of performance I like to hear. Maybe I'll have to get some TSX bullets for my 25-06 as well. You're right about the loading 1-2 grains over the barnes X bullets specs. That's what they told me as well. Thanks again for your input and happy hunting. Smile

By the way ...... it's never too late to respond... Thanks Very Happy

Barnes bullets seem to be one of the few that you never really hear any negative coments about. The folks that I know that use them all have good things to say in the accuracy and performance areas. Doesn't look like you good go wrong using them.--tr
