I made the mistake the other day of looking into the used Pistol Case at my local gun shop The Wolf's Den. Very Happy

I came out of the place with a like new Stainless Mark II Competition Target .22.

I ordered some 30mm Ruger Rings so my Bushnell Trophy Scope will fit, but took the gun to the range, and shot the 10 Ring out of the bull, using it's iron sights.

Nicest pistol next to my 1911's that I have ever shot.
On a rest and sighting it in, it drove tacks, and off hand, the Mark II holds dead on for me.

I'll let my Wife know about it-----someday Sad

The Rings aren't in yet, but I think that I will use it at a Bullseye Competition that I am thinking of shooting on Sunday.

I'm like the Pide Pipper, guns keep following me home. Very Happy Very Happy

Eric

I've got the slab sided version, I think exactly what you've got. A few years back I fired a 10 round group at 100 yards, from the bench with a scope, that measured 2.1"! I can only say that because I had witnesses. Needless to say, I like that gun!

My Mark II is the same as yours Mike. It has the slab sides, and on the right side of the receiver it says Competition Target Model.

Gander ordered the wrong rings for it,[Rifle instead of Pistol], so when I do get my scope on it, I think that I will have a pistol that shoots much better than I can shoot.

I have been using one for the first 2 years of my life with a pistol.. it was the club's gun..
Now, I own an original Rugel MKI (with no slide latch) bull barrel.
Yes they are VERY VERY nice gun to shoot with.
I shoots many "possibles" (5 out of 5 in the 10ring) with mine at 25meters single handed shots in the past 6 years or so with it.

Pick up plenty of magazine because prices keep going up.. I wish I have more.

Next week, I will pick up extra Magazines.
Your mention of extras, G, gets me thinking that if I go to the Bullseye Match on Sunday, I won't have enough Mags. to compete.
I will have to use my S&W 617. Not a bad backup gun.
