I listened to this guy that said he thinks that the country will go to crap in a couple years. Do you think it will, and if it gets worse(lets say gun control), will you fight?

Part of the ( currently amended to death ) Constitution gives us the right to defend ourselves from enemies " within " ,,, Think about that a minute .

It depends. Only fifty percent of the electorate voted in the last election. The current President won by four percentage points of the popular vote.
We lived through the last "assault gun" ban, but I do believe folks are better informed today and the internet helps us get more information than ever before.
I served this country back in the 1960s in the U.S. Air Force. Now I serve my community as the Emergency Management Director. If that means I may have to command the Schnecksville milita to defend our Constitutional rights, so be it. All the best...

Well Gents, today we are back in 1859.and our Constitution is at risk.I hope our states have enough sense to tell Baracky to go jump.I personally don't like the idea of seceding ,but I do not have any problem whatsoever of kicking a socialist state out of the union. As far as I am concerned California can fall off into the ocean or the left coast as far as I am concerned.I am sorry if I insult any body but the only good thing that come out of California is President Reagan, Ronnie I sure do miss you!!!
And as far as our country ,Border patrol could be constrewed as a states right. If Texas wants to put up observation towers and man them with armed guards, then Texas should be allowed to make the border look like the Berlin wall. But I think we are gonna see a shake down before we get rid of the idiot from ILL and the libs.

Well sure it will come back, We are Americans are we not?
Now in what shape and form is not known but I think before it is all over the people in charge and the ones who have done this over the last 30 years to our country will be in hiding or better be in hiding. There thief`s and lie to the masses, And they better be willing to pay for there crimes with the highest price. We all feel the ground moving under us, and can see what is coming, just listen to the talk in the streets and even here on this talk forum.
Now is not the time to look for who to blame but know who they are so they will be made to pay for there crimes. Now is the time to figure out how we go forward and what to do to bring America back from the brink. I personally think we should do all possible to bring it back by discussion and not by force but force be the engine behind our intent if needed.

Well, the latest from Nancy Pelosi on the comments of Attorney General Holder on the assault rifle ban is no, not right now. I think the democrats know they are walking a very thin line with some that voted for Barak Obama. I also think that a significant number that voted for him already regret it. Just think what the vote showed; it showed that over half of the voting citizens were stupid and half of our citizens didn't care enough to vote.
As for the decline of America, the big problem is moral corruption and lack of common sense. The use of visual aids such as videos and photos is well known to enhance learning and yet the producers of immoral and violent video games and movies and many liberals claim these products do no harm and defend them. If they had moral values and common sense they would be trying to ban those and not guns. If you had some control of the immoral element, the control of guns and a lot of other things wouldn't be needed.
As far as fighting to protect the Constitution; realistically not any time soon. As long as people are getting enough to eat and able to get by hardly any would be willing to be the sacrificial lamb in participating in such an exercise. If you don't believe that, just review the history of countries where living was/is really bad and see what percentage of the citizens were willing to enter conflict to protect their rights.
The best thing you can do now to protect the Constitution now is to maintain your own good moral character and vote accordingly.

Grumulkin...If you think pelosi wouldn't vote to end "assault" firearms you are very badly misstaken. She is well aware that if she did she would be out of office at the next election...

Bushy,
You are exactly right. Pelosi is one evil woman and would give anything to do away with the second amendment, along with the first amendment,.... and several others. And Yes (!) we need to support all of our like-minded comrades, no matter where they are located.

Oh, I have no doubt Pelosi would vote to take away the individuals right to have ANY type of firearm. As you note, the only thing stopping her and many other democrats from doing this is they know it would be political suicide at this time; not for Pelosi in particular but for the democrat cause in general. Pelosi, coming from California, wouldn't lose many California votes with an antigun stance.

As an new expat I would like to say LAY OFF CALIFORNIA. Yes it is because of the stupid gov't that I had to go outside the coutnry to get a job. However, there are a lot of people, at least in the north part, that don't get the idea of gun control outside of using both hands and sights. So please pick on the Southern half of the state. We've only been trying to make it into 2 states since it was formed. And just because Pelosi may issue the vote doesn't mean that all the other people in Congress, those from ya'll states, need to vote for it.
As for the "Amended Constitution" if it wasn't for thosed amendedments we wouldn't even have our guns. It's the judicial review that is the issue. Which by the way is not even out lined in the constitution, it is only suggested.
And yes I would defend myself against the gov't if it came to it. And last time states tried to do what was constitutionaly allowed we had a war. So if you don't like how something is being ran, go run for office and try and do better. Or if that won't work, write letters to the people.
And stop trying to toss us into the water, you won't like food prices if you do.

I was born and raised in California, and I will bust it's chops as often as I choose.
It was a great state, till about 69 then it started going downhill fast, and it has not slowed up yet.
Yes, I know there are wonderful people that live there, but San Fran, LA, and San Diego run the show. So if just those portions fell off in the ocean that would be great. The folks in the rest of the state are relatively normal, and I still have tons of friends living there.
Now, I am a southern boy, back in SC where my family arrived at Charleston in 1718. Loved California then love SC now.
SC the first defender of the Constitution.
