Western Australia has always had an extremely hard nosed attitude towards firearm ownership…almost dictatorial in its attitudes. But not just towards firearms, many other things as well. From the way I read this, it is only being considered for discussion at this time, although whilst they will open it up for submissions, these submissions will not be considered.
It’s a shame because WA is a beautiful part of the country. I lived there for a short time and would happily move back there if it wasn’t for the attitude of the State Govt towards many things.
They are looking at doing this as a way of controlling Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMCG). The unfortunate part about it is they are not hitting the bikies (read criminals)…they are attacking the law abiding firearms owners. This will have next to no effect on the bikies because of their very nature, they’re not law abiding and will do as they please…and I seriously doubt they would handload anyway.
I’ve said it before…our chosen sport is suffering a “death by a thousand cuts”. I can’t wait until the Toxic Turd, Jackboot Johnny, John Howard, the author of our draconian firearms laws, finally dies…I have a bottle of scotch to pour over his grave…right after I strain it through my kidneys!!! I’d like to think that there would be a procession of firearms owners file past his grave and giving the short-arsed runt the treatment he should have got while alive!
