Thinking about giving the 22 a bit of extra class by adding a fake suppressor to the already threaded barrel. It will also add a bit of steady weight. Has anyone any experience doing this? Any recommendations? Note I considered both flash arrestors and muzzle brakes but that just seems silly Laughing

how well does it shoot now? I've added weights to the end of the barrel on a couple rifles and the POI and groupings changed dramatically. One got significanlty better, one worse, and the other kept bouncing around every time I shifted it. I also thought you were using it for hunting. There is not much extra length but it could be a consideration.

why not just fit a suppressor. I have one on my norinco and am thinking I need to get barrel pruned as its long and front heavy.

Elvis, getting a suppresor in the US is a pain. $250 "tax", extra backgrund checks, BATF supervision, etc. It can be done, just IMO it isn't worth the hassle.

You don't say what your rifle is. If it's a Ruger 10/22 you might want to consider one of the excellent after-market barrels in just about any configuration you want from plain or fluted "bull" barrels through carbon as well as various lengths. That way you can choose something that might improve the performance rather than just decoration (not that there's anything wrong with decoration).

Ya I know it is a bit silly but I like the look. The rifle is a Savage

www.savagearms.com/fir...el/64TRRSR

It has the 1/2x28tpi threaded muzzle already and I can just take off the fake "can" for hunting. Real silencers are illegal in Canada as I understand they are in a number of the states. My concern is it will impact accuracy when I am trying to complete that dart board target challenge I saw somewhere here in the forum.
