That is really funny! I teach Hunter Education here in Kansas, and have done so for almost 25 years.

25 years ago, most of the students were 10-14 year old boys. What I am finding now, is that a large number of guys that are taking the class for the first time in their lat 20's and early 30's.

I guess it is a sign of the times that boys, for the most part, aren't being introduced to the shooting sports by 5 or 6 years old like I was.

I have plenty of stories about these 20 and 30 somethings and their thoughts on hunting...seems like we are raising a generation of wusses, but that is a topic for another day!

Yeah Bushy, but you live where men are men, and sometimes the women too.

Yup, back when I was a kid in the 60's, I would walk about a 1/2 mile to the woods to hunt rabbit & squirrel with the 22 popped over my shoulder and nobody said a word. In fact if I did score some rabbits or squirrels, their was one guy on the way back home where I would drop off a couple of rabbits & squirrels for him & they always treated me to dinner. Very Happy

Nowadays you'll have the swat team at yah for walking anywhere with a loaded 22 in public. Sad

I doubt kids will be allowed to carry their guns to school, as my dad did, anytime soon !!!
He and other boys would carry them to school and then hunt their way home.

When I was in Junior high (1954-56) we had a .22 range under the bleechers. We brought our .22 rifles and ammunition on the school bus with us and turned them in to the gym teacher. It was an "extra curricular activity" after school.

Now they arrest kids for having a toy gun with a bright orange muzzle.

I think if I were a cop and a school called me in on something like that I would laugh in the principals face.

Talking about bright orange muzzle, since I saw the pink Hello Kitty AR, I am seriously considering cerakoting my guns to bright fluoro yellow or orange.. maybe in camo pattern .. Yeah..
My guns would look like toys.. less chance of them being stolen and much easier to identify ..

I was in a store the other day Christmas shopping with my wife when I saw someone open carrying. In the next isle there was a couple discussing the man with the gun and how terrible it was. Me being the smart azz I am I politely interjected that now they could talk about my wife and myself because we have our firearms concealed. I went further down the isle and found the item I was looking for and the butt of my colt peaked out when I bent down to pick up the item I wanted. The look on the couples face was priceless.

Most people haven't a clue just how many citizens are well heeled in public. There are tens of thousands in Missouri alone.

The number of permits in Minnesota has skyrocketed in the last few years.

Permit numbers have gone up everywhere !!!

Excerpt from Crime prevention research center study (John Lott Jr. )

Quote::
To put this in perspective, during the eight years from 1999 to 2007, the number of permits increased by about 240,000 per year. During the next four years that figure surged to 844,000 net new permits per year. And from the end of 2011 to 2014 the yearly increase had soared to 1,390,000 net new permits per year

I don't believe that at all. I say it's just a liberal/democrat attempt to scare the general (idiotic) public, you know all those brain-dead morons that keep re-electing the same congressmen back into office, and elected BO twice.

Guns, whose got guns, I don't have any. I sold them all to a guy named Muhammad Garcia. What do I need guns for anyway? My government is taking care of me just fine, just ask them. I am perfectly safe.

Just having a little fun guys.
