Not for us switched on guys:
Eat a portion on the day you cook it.
Eat another the next day, when it's at its best.
Freeze the rest for lazy days.
That's why I have a small freezer in the kitchen for ready use stuff, plus two chest freezer's for what I shoot/catch/batch cook/sausages.
Oh & space for a bottle of white wine to chill for an hour...

When that pot comes out I know I'm in for a large pot of beef and beans...As Vince would say "YUMMM".

Any of you guys and gals ever had poutine? Very simple, make French fries however you like them. Heat up a can of chicken or beef gravy, Get shredded mozzarella cheese or cheese curds if available. throw fries in a bowl or on a plate, put on a good amount of cheese and pour hot gravy over the works S&P to taste simple and tasty.

I've had that before. Never knew it had a name. It was just french fries and gravy with cheese. I like to sprinkle some chopped onions on top of it.

Poutine MUST have curds, or else it's called fries w/with gravy and cheese.
Some of the best poutine I've had is in Ontario, but I had a really good one in Shawville, QC.

Since returning from my visit to the US and Ontario, I’ve had poutine once here in Australia, but nothing comes even remotely close to the poutine I had with Ron (inthedark) when I visited him. He took me to a little cafe/takeaway about 30 minutes from his place and we ordered some there. Apparently this place has awards for its poutine...it was outstanding to say the least.
I miss being over in that part of the world I loved the US and Ontario.

Nearest I've come to that is grated cheddar on the chips (fries to you lot), then pour curry sauce over.
Oh & two fried eggs with the yolks not set, chips on top & gravy poured over is pretty good too.

Vince...Why are you starving? Just add insult to injury. I am enjoying a whiskey after a dinner of tender (as in falling apart) pork roast, mashed potatoes, pork gravy and a tossed green salad with ranch dressing.
How do you feel now?
