Thats just absolutely insane... scored 443 Gross, 425 net.
Utah is producing some of the most mindblowing bulls in America... its sad they have to restrict the # of tags given out in order to grow'em that big. Right now its pretty much a once in a lifetime draw... for those that are already applying. Those that havent applied yet and have 0 bonus points will never draw.
Still its an amazing bull... there have been I think over 10 at last count taken this year over 400 inches... and who knows how many in the 360-399 range.

Definitely displacing Arizona. I guess the tribes may have to come down on their fees in AZ. I used to hunt a little east of Coalville. Never saw anything that big.

OMG that beastie is MASSIVE. I couldn't imagine that one if I hadn't seen a pic.
Looking at the points....there is 5 on the left and 6 on the right. Is this normal or has he lost one in some way?
Whichever.....he is a majestic head, thats for sure.

The picture doesnt show enough I'll admit. The elk is actually a 6x7. The camera angle hides some of his antler configuration. This bull was guided to by Mossback outfitters and the filmed the entire hunt as they always do, then sell DVDs after. Enough rumors and a cell-phone picture surfaced of the bull that they decided to release this single picture... as for the rest, well they want to sell those dvds LOL
I dont entirely agree with Mossback and their methods of hunting, but they absolutely produce the largest elk on public ground for their clients, and the most big elk of any outfitter currently.

Dallan, you are correct sir, Utah has become a nice hot spot for very large elk. Some of the Eastman's journals and other quality publications have zeroed in on Utah for articles over the past few years. I have seen many elk over the years, in the wild I have only seen 1 maybe 2 even close to the 400 range - at that I doubt they breached the big 4 - not a single one of them was during any type of hunting season - go figure. Thanks for sharing the pic, I will put it in my tent for this upcoming hunt, you know, just to get my attitude right.

I wouldn't waste my time getting out of the truck for these bulls.......I'd probably get trampled in the rush of hunters trying to take them.
They are pretty awesome critters, thats for sure. #2 is a great looking head, but #3 (with the guy wearing the funny yellow hat) is absolutely awesome. That would feed a family of 6 for 12 months I reckon, and the antlers look magnificent.
Here's hoping your Dad is fortunate enough to bag one of the best of the best Dallan. Let us know how he fares mate.
Cheers, Vince

Wow.....nice bulls - keep 'em coming. I took a picture this weekend with my phone, just waiting for the pic to get approved & I will post it. I first pulled up to our local meat processor that also has one of the nicer butcher shops - I see a truck around the side with some massive horns in the back, so the kids and I walked over to take a closer look - in the back was one of the biggest set of horns I have ever seen mass wise, there was another set equally as nice on the ground. I was stumbling through my mind trying to figure out where these guys had got them, one would be awesome, but 2 by the same hunting party - unreal.......well I heard them talking and the guy measuring said they were both 450+ bulls, then the one guy in their group asked about the buffalo head......ding...it registered, there is a game farm outside of town that caters to fake hunters who fly in and tell them what they want size wise and I guess they must just tie the domesticated game animals to the fence post and let them shoot them. The guys verified that they had got them from one of the ranches nearby which is a game farm. I felt cheated, I had a long talk with my children on how those animals were not that impressive after all, as they were not obtained by fair chase. I realize there is money to be made by offering to provide animals of this quality to fake hunters - I guess I should be thankful, because by this ranch providing this service, it will keep those goons from being out there hunting with those of us who appreciate the true sport. I will admit, it was a nice elk!

Dallan, I was in Sportman's Warehouse in North Phoenix yesterday buying some primers and they have the World Record 500 1/8 Bull Elk on display. This is the Elk taken on the San Carlos Indian Reservation in Eastern Arizona. They also have several other Bull Elks that are very impressive. I have only harvested a cow. I didn't get any trophy out of her but she did eat well. :-)
