In Mass. we have a law saying that a landowner or farmer can hunt on land without a license . Well I went out today and I was just looking for red sguirrels .I heard some crows and I snuck to the corner of our property about 200 yards of woods from the house .I shot and got my first crow . I was aiming at a dumb second one when Mom called and I had to go home because it raining. But I got one !! Its a start !I would of ate it but the 6# 12gauge alost ripped him in two . Well done whittling. Shoooting crows can be difficult. Blowing up crows with my .243 is a fun part of the day when I am out hunting.

Cheers, Vince

Can you eat crow....I mean other than the usual way (somewhat like sticking your foot in your mouth).

The concept was never brought up in my circle of hunting friends and probably not common in these parts. Here we don't have many and they are viewed much like trash birds.

Whittling, that was a good day!

While you COULD eat crow I doubt you would like it. Crows eat everything, including carrion. Never ate any (feathered) crow myself but suspect it would be a VERY strong tasting meat! Good tasting game birds mostly eat grain, not meat.

Have a look at this link SKB.

Crow Busters Recipes

Like you, crow is not a bird I would have ever considered eating...but it appears that some do.

Wonder how much crow would be edible after a solid hit from a .220 Swift...

Well done on the crow shooting, I get to bust the odd one in the trees out the back.
As for eating them, my dog and cat will eat anything that drops from the trees - except crows, if the dog won't eat it........
