Anybody use them for the 1911 I just bought a 3 pack from the sportsman guide and then did a search on a 1911 site and they don't seem to be very popular. I saved the return lable and box so if there crap I'll send them back. I won't be able to try them until I get my .45

Your right Joe, Pro mags are not very popular amongst the 1911 crowd.
I do have 2 of them but will not use them in a match. (not reliable)
The most popular IMO are Wilson and the Chip McCormicks.
McCormick makes 3 models:
Shooting Star, Match grade, and Power mag.

Joe, Midway USA seems to always run sales on McCormick mags, watch for them should you decide to get some !!!
Also spend the extra 2 bucks and buy the Match Grade !!!

With some exceptions, Pro Mags are best overlooked when buying reliable, functional magazines. Often when shooters are experiencing FTF, especially in 1911s, changing the mag from Pro Mag to other brands solves the issue.

I can pick up my .45 on wed. so hopefully I will be able to get some rounds through it next weekend. I have one Chip McCormick and the three Pro mags I think the factory mag is a novak. So I will try them all and see how they do.

It probably depends on the particular firearm, but I have the best luck with Wilsons. I have a couple Shooting Stars that work OK, but the followers seem a little flimsy. Of course they are several years old, so maybe this has been corrected with more recent manufacture.
