First post, glad to be among fellow weapon lovers. I was in Marksmanship section of GaNatGuard for years. On a WMA range with fellow shooter we noticed a couple guys having much trouble zeroing. We taught marksmanship and felt they need help. They could not get on paper at 50 yds. Reason: their scope was mounted 90degrees off. windage on top, elevation on left. LOL.

Hi
I've seen scopes mounted like that before. It's so the shooter can adjust windage with the left hand and never take their right hand from firing position. The people in question had reason not to take their right hands from firing position.
All you have to do is remember that UP is LEFT and RIGHT is UP...
...
and up is down... and left is black... and blue is sweet... and bitter is southwest... and matter is energy... and time is money... and... and... and... oh hell - just remount the scope!!
...and welcome to the boards, Sevensixtwomm!

THAT AIN't FUNNY!...Or maybe it is. The first time I mounted a scope on my rimfire, I did it just that way, and wondered why it wouldn't zero. Oh, well, live and learn. A little knowledge can be frustrating, if not downright dangerous!
Happy New Year to you all!

I did the same thing on one rifle - but my feeble excuse is that the turret adjuster dials were installed wrong on the wrong turrets. After the light went on, I was able to switch the indicator dials on the turrets and mount it correctly.
By the way, it was a Sightron scope. It is a good scope but they sure made me look like an idiot for a few minutes with THEIR mistake.

FYI, On the older Winchester M94's you had to mount the turrets 90 degrees off or the ejected round's would bash into the windage turret.
Just my 2 cents.
