Omini - if you have an issue with your gun, please call us at 800-243-9700 and we'll try and help you out.

I had decided to stay out of this after my single post. I watched all the videos on Remingtons site, saw the CNBC "investigative report" and based on my experience, how I think, and my education and being able to think for myself...I believe CNBC is no better than MSNBC and NBC. I don't watch either of those either due to there avoidance of the truth.

So now Remington appears to have taken notice and tried to address your issues. I for one, GREATLY APPRECIATE them taking the time to come on this forum. I'm just sorry they have to defend themselves here.

Remington, if you are listening...I know your lawyers must be howling at you. Don't listen. Please don't try to "STUPID PROOF" your fine firearms.

Okay Chambered221, NOW that is all I got to say about that there. Very Happy

Now
People like Omini and "YOU" have a means of dealing with the guns unaltered that are in need of repairs .
Should Remington come to the party , I think they will only start to sell more bolt action rifles -smelling like a rose .

I no longer have the remington bolt , but maybe now down the road I just might look at the product once again .
I do enjoy my 870 pump and the 7600 pump

I like to see Remington come and give the facts that were left out of the "news" article. I thank them for that. I never had a doubt that my 700s are one of the best - if not the best - rifles ever manufactured. I have never had any problem with it and I trust it explicitely. I still treat it with the respect that every firearm is due.

Thank you Remington for confirming what I believed !!!

I suggest we send the link to everyone and anyone to help Remington tell their side of the story.

Well done to the Remington Arms Company for taking the time to keep up with what is going on in the hunting community and its customers. Take a "pat on the back" guys....and a beer from the cooler of course.

Cheers, Vince

Thanks Remington, if you look at my earlier posts, I stated that I sent to your corporate headquarters a copy of the gunsmith bill and a letter from me. Hopefully you should be getting the letter today as I left my cell phone and home phone numbers on my letter. Heres the address I sent the letter and bill to.

Remington Arms Company, Inc.
870 Remington Drive
P.O. Box 700

I think Remington did a good job explaining the facts, as opposed to CNBC's fear mongering. Their response just enforces my faith in the company.

Over the years Dad and I both had some contact with the media for various reasons and we were NEVER accurately quoted, whether by error or intent. In an issue as contentious as this one could be I wouldn't trust the "mass media" to give me the whole truth. And I certainly wouldn't put it past them to intentionally do a hatchet job on a gun manufacturer.

That From experianceTHAT STATEMENT is true . How- ever presented though be it from the media or in Part from Remington's defence , it does not take away the one fact .
There is a problem with the 600/ 660 & 700 SERIES OF RIFLE'S ! Now if the new X trigger has solved that great !!! . Let's get the unmodified triggers from olderguns checked over . In remingtons defence , if you have tinkered with them -it should be your coin. That is YOU caused the problem
Let the company do that , and I say lets all support the company when buying a new firarm.

Well guy's I just got off the phone with Remington and was told that since I had my M700 repaired at my local gunsmith who is an authorized dealer but not a authorized gunsmith repair center. The local gunsmith has been in business for 43 years. Remington will pay me the shipping ($22.00) plus insurance ($5.00) and send me a coupon for a free blaze orange hat but will not pay for the trigger upgrade. I told them to stuff it. I told the idiot on the phone that this has been a known problem for years and that its a safety problem. So he tells me even though he is an authorized retailer but not an authorized gunsmith, they will not honor it.

Magwa

I could not agree more, I just called (John) the local gunsmith who is an authorized dealer (for Remington) but not authorized gunsmith even thou he's been doing this for 43 years and believe me he is pissed.

I don't know of any manufacturer that will pay for work done by an unauthorized repair facility. Its a legitimate liability issue as well as an issue with what the manufacturer does to make the repair. If you had sent the gun to an authorized repair station then it would have been covered.

Your attitude amazes me. I build performance C4s for racing and classic rods. I wouldn't trust any transmision shop within 500 miles of me to repair one of my transmissions. They don't have the skill, parts, or tooling that I use to build them. I don't trust most of them to change the oil and adjust the bands in one of my transmissions - and I provide my customers with the specs so they can do it themselves.

Requiring an authorized repair facility is just good buisiness sence and legal protection.
