Schedule change

For the first time in about seven years I'm going to be on DAY SHIFT! 12 hour shifts but 3.5 days a week! Maybe some of these loads I've had sitting around for a couple of years will finally get tested...

A time to celebrate and plan.
3 full days to do something each and every week.

I've just done a similar thing (sort of, stopped shift work a couple of years ago) I now only work 5 days a week and I'm just discovering weekends.

Time for a bit more Fun and alot more Hunting

Boy you nailed that one smack in the old bullseye, I had 2 months of 4 day workweeks awhile ago and the wife had all my Fridays sewed up.

Maybe I shouldn't have told her...

I did mention that, after 7 years, I'll finally get to spend some time with my wife! Hopefully it won't lead to a divorce... Wink

Be alert for those telltale signs "I need my space". I went for 2 years traveling away every week. When the job changed and I was back home every night. I was a definite change for her and a disruption of her routine.

Slim, good point. However she usually goes to bed really early and I won't be getting home until about 8PM three nights a week so maybe we'll ease back into it. We seem to have done OK for the last 30 years... (29th anniversary in April)

After 22 years in the U.S. Navy and being gone a lot of the time for extended periods. Wife got use to me being gone. When I retired she kept asking "When are you going to sea" for about 5 years. Took her a few years to get use to me under foot every day.

I have been working together with SWMBO at the same work place for the past 17 years,
basically only separated whenever I have to go on business trips.

Yes, sometimes we need our spaces, I got my man cave and she got the rest of the house Razz
