I remember that day very well and lost a relative (cousin) who worked for Carr Futures and was only beginning her life at 26 years old. Was at work when told about this and watched tv all day as to the evil that happened that day.

I was at work in Jersey 30 minutes away from the towers. I heard on a NYC news radio station about the first plane crash and didn't think of anything other than accidental until the second plane hit the towers. At the time, no one knew how many attacks to expect or the nature of them. I remember seeing the New Jersey State Police barracks barricaded in by tractor trailers. I was thinking a lot about the attack on Pearl Harbor and wondering if we were on the verge of WWIII.

I was at home, at least I think I was because I remember watching it unfold on TV. I stopped long enough to figure out that I wasn't near any obvious targets and then sat and watched while NY and DC were attacked for the second time in our history.

I was in my shop when my brother phoned & said that it was on the news that an aircraft had crashed into the WTC.
This was mid afternoon here.
Watched it all a few hours later & straight off thought to myself it would be the mad wogs who did it & half expected Iran to be the culprit & the imminent target for a nuke.

Me and a mate were about to go hunting, he came round and said - you'd better turn on the TV - its got weird out there.
We turned on to watch the second plane go in, both of us being cops thought oh shit, lets not go hunting today and watched it all unfold on TV.
A sad day for the world!
Are we in a better place today?....I'm unsure!
Bless those who lost their lives and their families and to those that served, no matter what role - we will never forget!

Came home late that night..
Bro in law is watching TV, he never watch news, always movies or soap.. so when I saw a plane slammed into the tower, I thought it is a movie..
When I asked him, he said it is news, not movie..
I cursed that night..

Turned the TV on at home in the AM and watched, don't think I worked that day but I do remember the employee I sit next to in the lab had no idea what had happened. I saw her the same day or next I don't remember. Turn on any media, the radio, the TV, the internet and it's all over the place, yet she had no idea. She's also never heard of David Letterman, has no idea of the current music trends, although she's in an orchestra and we listen to the radio all day long....oh and she can recite Letterman's top ten list every morning, because they aire it on the radio during her drive to work. But she's never heard of David Letterman. Claims she lived in California near Marilyn Monroe's place, but she has no idea who Norma Jeane Mortenson is...I could go on and on....I usually do...anyways that day has been christened Patriot Day, for those of you who don't live in the States, we don't take the day off but we do honor those lost lives and those heroic soles and we continue to battle for reconciliation, so I doubt we will forget any time soon, what has become our thunder. Unless maybe the big O is seen fit to hand us over lock stock and barrel....

I remember I was home alone that morning. I got up about 8 am and I had to be at work at 1. I am not sure why I turned on the Television but I did to my horrific surprise I was seeing video of the planes hitting the twin towers. I spent the rest of the time I had until I went to work watching in silence.

A mate called me at around 5 in the morning and said looks like were going to war, turn on the tele.
Turned it on just in time to watch the second plane crash into the tower, thats where I stayed for the rest of the day, watching and wondering which islamic country was about to be paved in glass.

Walking the Dog when the first tower was hit. My Wife called me into the office and was there just in time to see the second hit. I was sickened that I couldn't watch anymore, I went and cut the lawn and to think what was coming next and thinking of the victims.
It still sickens me today.
