I have been dabbling in firearms since 1958. I still have my first rifle which was a military .303 Enfield No. I Mark III that set me back $15.50, but no longer have my first wife. There are several gun shops that I visit and got to know the staff really well. I put a hold on an excellent used Savage Model 110 in .270 with a decent scope for less than $300. The shop would not sell it to me because there was a defect in the barrel and chamber. The rifle was returned to Savage for a warranty repair or replacement of the barrel. It is on its way back to the gun shop with a new barrel. My name is still on it and the original price is still valid. That is why I deal with local gun shops. All the best...
Gil

Gil, you get more good deals than anyone else on the forum. Another plus of frequenting the LGS! Congrats. The .270 Win is a great cartridge.

Gil, you have to be the luckiest guy around when it comes to finding good bargains mate. Well done on two counts...finding this deal and for supporting you local gun store.
