|
When I compute the ballistics for loads the wind deflection (10mph) is calculated incorrectly. For example, for one load the wind def for 25 yards is -454.58, 100 yards is -438.90, 1000 yards is -250.80, and 1500 yards is -146.30. I have updated for the latest changes. It was working fine and then just started doing this. Any ideas?

What variables are you using in your computation? What are the max range and range increment settings?

I am using 25 yard increments and 1500 yard max.

If it helps, I too am having the same wind deflection calculations: using a .264 Hornady AMAX, 500 yd range, 50 yd increments, MV velocity of 2650 fps, and at 50 yrds says -438.64 inches and at 500 yards is -346.83 inches for 10 mph crosswind.
This was working last fall so must be in a recent update since then?
Everything else is stellar though, working well.

Finally got to posting the table of data.
For my .264 shooting at MV 2660 fps, sight height 1.5, and out to 500 yards, I got deflections of : 100 yd = -485.81, 200 yd = -452.68, 300 yd = -439.54, 400 yd = -416.41 and 500 yd = -393.28.
Not only is the wind deflection getting smaller the farther out, but I'd be missing the target by a whole bunch!
Can anyone else replicate this?

I finally found time to mess with this, I've found the problem and have a potential fix. I hope to push a new version up tomorrow with a few more fixes.
