i challenge you to put a .20ga in your .12 then load a .12ga shell MAKE SURE THE SAFETY IS ON AND KEEP FINGERS CLEAR and NOT get a servere case of the heebee geebees.
I hunt with my son who uses the .410 to great effect so not having a potential fatality makes sence to me. my single baikal and my brother in laws baikal are 2 3/4" but we havent managed to mix that ammo. so I guess im just paranoid about the .20ga. Another friend of mine did fire a 3" shell in his single baikal 2 3/4" chambered with no repercussions other than a big kick.

I understand your point and you're right: better safe than sorry. But on the other hand: I like all these different calibers and most pleasant things come with some danger...

and when you start thinking about what can happen with a little dirt inside your cal 12 barrel...
life is tough and when we live long enough, we'll be veterans Smile

In the words of a famous bot;

I use the 20ga and 12ga shotshells in my reloading course safety brief. When you show a student just how easy it is to load a 20ga shotshell into a 12ga, have the shell move forward and lodge further up into the barrel, look into the action and see nothing (its clear), then rack in a 12ga and pull the trigger. The point gets across very quickly when the pctures of the aftermath of the gun and the shooter are passed around.
