Oh they're not through yet, Putnam county is next, they just haven't compiled them all yet. They said they'll publish as soon as more names come in. After another news paper published the names and addresses of the offending newspaper editors, critics called that a "childish and petulant" move. They said if permit holders information was presented in context it served a legitimate interest. TO WHO? Idiots!!

Oh, I don't think this is over by a long shot Suz. There are quite a few people out there that are peeved by the publication of a "Crims Shopping List". After talking to a mate in the NY area, there is no doubt in my mind that there will be some sort of legal action directed at the journalist and the newspaper.

Hopefully that state senator from NY will get his proposed law passed asap.

This just keeps getting better, a competing newspaper with the help of readers and other papers have printed their own story titled "Map: Where are the Journal News employees in your neighborhood?"

The map includes ALL journalists who work for the paper.

PaulS it would be cool if someone else threatened to do that. Funny actually!

Maybe the paper might need to up the "armed protection" of it's staff to being 24 hr protection. We know that no law abiding legal firearms owner is ever likely to threaten them with physical violence...especially with a firearm...but there is always that nutbag out there that will take it upon himself to "drop in for a coffee".

Imagine the cost to the paper and the uproar from the shareholders at the cost.
