Good to hear the steel loads worked, also seeing the picture of your lee loader makes me wish I never got rid of mine.

Goosepit has been great giving me load data and advice.
Ive got another not complete .12ga set and a MRC .410 lot
its not fast but it works.

Interesting given that Lee Custom is out of business and Lee Precision isn't. I don't know the whole story but I read a comment in Richard Lee's book which basically says the former company was stolen out from under him. Anyone know the full story? Oops think I just strayed from Elvis's OP. Nice shooting. Good to see the steel loads doing it for you.

Had an hour to spare last night so the lad and I snuck up a local river well snuck is probably the wrong term as I walked up the middle of a shingle riverbed while he walked up the edge. Had a pair of parries fly off way upstream then fly back past us squawking away. I ignored them and they fly back over me.....silly mistake... the drake folded with some 7/8th oz #4s and while dog was retrieving him the hen came back for a look..well a 7/8th load of BB absolutely SMASHED her.
Got them both in the day bag and got the boy back over a ways when the urge to leek hit me...you guessed it another pair of parried flew past, caught midstream so to speak my shooting wasn't the best, dropped the drake but what with the dog pulling on the lead attached to my backpack and my whizzer hanging out in the breeze(no I didn't pee on my leg...just) I didn't get the second hen. 3 out of 4 not to bad fired 7 shots in total but happy with that average. My son fired a couple of loads through the old .12ga and was happy with the recoil so happy about that too. We stopped just short of the car and just sat and soaked in the evening air as the last of the light faded.
Yes I am quite happy with these new loads.

Great stuff Elvis. Nothing worse that wading through water, and because of the gentle splashing, having your bladder decide that it really needs to be emptied NOW!! Of course, Murphy's Law kicks in and the shot of your life will appear about the same time as your "flow" starts to peak.

At least you got a nice feed there mate.

What size is the "target" mate? That seems to be a nice tight pattern...only a couple of small holes an acrobatic contortionist duck could get through. Good stuff.

Have you patterned your loads on a 30 inch circle mate? A 1oz steel BB load in 12g has approximately 103 pieces of shot (90 - 95 in 7/8 oz) and I would expect to see better than 60% in a 30 inch circle with minimal gaps.

I count 27 hits on there so doubling that will still be slightly less than into a 30" circle giving 54 out of 75 loaded in the 7/8th oz shell. so a good pattern I feel. rechecked the choke on the old single gun we fired this out of and Ive actually put just OVER modified in her so is full for steel, kind of explains how the pattern was tighter than when fired through my pump with modified choke in it.
