looks like it will be fun to use.
took son out for a spotlight last night, private land (of course) ended up with 10 possums 9 recovered and defurred(I would have written "plucked" but with that uncouth lot from Aussie around though better of it ) and some pork
I thought the pigs were only weaners 10-20lb as they looked tiny in the scope waaaay out up the hill I fired 5 times for 3 kills but as usual when using light at range we only managed to find one (40-50lb) to recover ...station policy on pigs is kill all you can...
Nathan shot 4 of the possums and learnt valuable lesson ....get as close as you can, then get closer.... he shot last possum with barrel touching its nose

That bow looks real nice Stovey...but not as "rough and ready" as mine mate, it's homemade using poly pipe. Poor bloody beaver, giving up the twins for string silencers...works fer me mate.
Alloys...did ya leave some breeders for next season mate? Thats pretty good rabbit hunting, well done.
Elvis...how in blue blazes do ya pluck a possum mate?? The mind boggles. I would skin the buggers mate, tan the hide and make gloves or a possum skin hat. (as an aside Elvis...how are your steel shot wads going...still got plenty mate?)

wads are working great...down to last few now
possums are easier to pluck than a duck, using grab and pull same as duck but you can get big handfull off possum.
skinning them is fine if you want to tan them...but at close to $100 per kilo for plucked fur that 10-12 possums worth its an easyish way to get ammo money.

Well, here's a pic from my first set with the new bow. No clue how I did as the next set I promptly lost a shaft in that snag pile....GULP! Gone. Wonderful.

So I found some chipboard in the forest and made this! The longbow is really hard to use buts its coming back and wow it is really quiet. All you can hear is the arrow hissing through the air. Zero string noise. Really neat to shoot one again.

do the farmers in your area wrap their bales of stock food with plastic cover??? called balage...its silage made in a bale form???
if so go see them and grab big pile of the left over plastic.. its like super heavy duty cling wrap you use in kitchen to cover food etc. its piece of cake to bundle it up into big ball or stuff a huge bag with it..arrow will not get through that stuff but will sink in enough to stick.

Looks like you need to adjust the sights on that thing. Shooting a bit low.

El- we use wire or poly string. I get lots of that on parts orders. only problem is the arrow heats it as it goes in and welds it in the hole sometimes...ask me how iknow! yank tug grunt! That shipboard is really nackered so its easy on the arrow when i have a flyer. And i do have a lot at this point....hehehe. WHUMP! Damnit! lol.
Bushyboss- it's a LONGbow. there are not sights, its point shooting from muscle memory, like a shotty.
Aloy- how ya think I got the Beaver Balls for it???

he tied a lot of strings together to a poly string and made a beaver-ball-trap with that. I'm still waiting for the production plans because I like the idea of trapping balls with strings...
Most inventions start with an idea, then a plan, afterwards a model folowed by some testing...
Stovey survived the tests but he's singing a little higher now...
