let me promish you this (but I have to ask permission first!): we have only 2 days left before roebuck season closes. She's trying for a last buck. When our Saint-Hubertus allows her to shoot a nice buck, you old men will get a nice picture of this buck (and I'll try to get our new old-hunters-support also on that picture).
When we don't succeed (and after the ruth is realy not easy anymore), then you have to wait till next opportunity. I can already tell you that she as very long legs... Stovey would at least the assistance of a chair just to kiss her

Well I can't tell you all just how down in the dumps I have been lately and to top it all (no it just keeps goin) I wrote all this down on the NUT the other night and my internet connection quit, so I lost it. Now I don't want to complain and all that I wrote was from a long misery (I think BushM lives there) so I'll just say that nothing has gone very right lately. I did get my deer tags today tho and that cheered me up, a buck and a doe from Oct. 4th through Dec. 7th that'll keep me busy. From vehicle repairs to work issues and money issues, but my health is good and you couldn't ask for nicer summer weather. Dry as can be but I got my veggies and had surplus grapes, apples and pears this year. Dried a bunch for snacking and made two batches of beef jerky for hunting snacks. I also finished my rolling block but the fire restrictions have kept me from goin out and trying my new rounds. Soon as the rain starts I'm going to load a few and try it out.

I just started casting my bullets, 8mm and .32 cal. for my pistol. It's fun and I wish I'd started casting earlier. I wanted to buy a rifle too but I bit off more than I can chew when I took care of my car (it was gettin neglected). I'm lookin at a CZ 527 for 7.62x39, they're hard to find and every time I find one, I don't have the money.

This probably belongs in the "Name that Tune" thread but it is one line from a song that is so true. "Some days are diamonds and some days are stones" We don' t get to choose but evey day starts with diamond potential.

Glad to hear you are getting into casting. It is great to see those shiny new bullets drop out of the mold. A simple pleasure fur sure but kinda takes you away from the race for awhile. Right up there for me with sitting on a sunlit hillside picking fresh berries to snack upon. You take good care of yourself.

I think in my end it is more like
Some day you are the dog, and some days you are the hydrant.

Either way life ups and downs made it much more interesting.
