You got me going! TrueCar.com says it has 7 dealers locally that can get you a Tradesman with the 6.4L with $3600 plus-up package with U-connect for $36,500. Ready to come down?

Sure Slim go run a few tests for me, I'm sure you would enjoy it. I'm going to look at one tomorrow and the $36,000 ball parl is where we're at also. I hace talked to a couple guys today that have the 6.4 and they love them. While not near the torque of a diesel they are getting from 12 to 15 mpg on the open road pulling. One guy actually traded in a 98 diesel, guys that are doing the occasional pulling are finding it a great alternative. If I pulled heavier loads more often I would be leaning more towards the diesel. I have not found anyone that has anything negative to say about the 6.4. Another consideration for me is the cold azz winters up here in the frozen tundra.

Great news, wiersy! If you con't find the model you want, search down here. Though a Tradesman with the U-connect package shouldn't be that hard to find. Post a picture for us of your new ride.

Wow, 14 deer can cause a lot of damage and I'm sure turkeys could as well.
Trucks are all made of tin and plastic and it all bends and breaks. LOL Good luck in your search.

I certainly wouldn't want one with an alu body since repair costs are higher than with steel. I've heard the new RAM marketing slogan will be "Steel is Real".

Heck Mike those are trained deer. The deer around here are sneaky and don't show themselves until the last second, I think our deer population has suicide rate higher than anywhere else in the US.

Weirsy, you may be on to something. My daughters swore that there was a squirrel suicide cult that lived down the road. You never went through there without seeing at least one lying in the road.

Gotta say the numbers do look good on the 6.4 !!!
I would be leery of the mpg figures being tossed around, especially when towing is evolved. It's not always about the weight, the drag plays a huge role. I've pulled a number of so called "lite weights" that gave nearly the same mpg as larger heavier units.
Another thing to look at dealing with mpg is the type of tires put on at the factory these days. Most trucks come with street tread to help obtain the published data. Last truck I had lost just over 2mpg when I put a set of real tires on it.
Don't go by the computer for your mpg until you confirm it's worth with a hand calculation to prove it. I've seen them off as much as 5.5mpg.
