nope...that makes a maater (wrong spelling) of IT..... it wont last long if it ever gets out into general prison population...if indeed IT lasts through the trial.

I agree totally Elvis. I do seriously wonder at the agendas in play at the moment. You can’t afford to “open” any doors even a crack to allow any group to claim retribution. Much better to deal with him not as a terrorist, but as a common criminal...and let the prison population mete out any justice they fancy.

It's seems the NZ govt has read the toxic turds play book from 1996, and the outlawing of private property in the form of semi autos is happening.
Nice of them to paint all semi auto owners as potential terrorists and therefore are not trustworthy enough to keep what they have legally acquired.
I didn't see any govt anywhere else confiscating privately owned motor vechicles or trucks after the numourus mass murders were carried out using them.
And to our North American friends, no there will be no appeal and if you refuse to comply you will loose EVERYTHING you own trying to oppose this compulsory aquirement of your property by the government.
The oxygen thief who caused this is merely a murderer, you step up to fight this you will be vilified publicly and placed along side the likes of pedophiles and granny rapists.

Yep...I’ll give you three guesses who has been in NZ for the past week or so mate...
1. Philip Alpers, NZ’s worst ever export, liar and expert manipulator of false and misleading statistics.
2. Samantha Lee Gun Control Australia (if she’s not physically there, she has had input to the NZ Govt through, yep, you guessed it...

He apparently went over to NZ almost straight after the shooting and has obviously offered his experience and expertise in illegally destroying legal firearms ownership.

I doubt that the firearms fraternity in NZ even knew he was over there, at the forefront of driving the implementation of these new firearms laws, laws that never stop taking, much to the delight of the ANTIs.

With some luck, the firearms fraternity will invite Toxic Turd up to Rotorua for a swim in one of their wonderful waterholes.

we in NZ introduced a few changes to our gun laws a few years back in aftermath of a shooting incident.....they were a tad painful to begin with but workable....but then a few retailers got greedy and started to exploit loopholes in the law to bring back in to common usage the very TYPE of firearms the previously mentioned laws were INTENDED to restrict the usage of...we then got generation memememe who want it all and they want it now who bought into the whole TACTICOOL B.S. and play too many video games...so the result we end up with a say 10 year age group who think/believe its got to be an AR/AK/SKS/M16 or "its just not coolenough guys"
then the sneaky retailers/manufacturers built firearms that use magazines that fit other TYPES of firearm..spacifically ARs n glocks....

fast forward to this scumbag...he LEGALLY purchased the rifles..legally purchased the magazines and ammunition...right up UNTILL he put a high capacity (more than 7 round) magazine into rifle it was legal and considered"sporting" so we had in effect completely shot ourselves in the foot by creating this loophole
to give another analogy our law was sort of like this
you want to stop four wheel driving so you are allowed to own a four wheel drive vechile but are only allowed road tyres and a fuel tank of less than 10 gallons capacity....... you can own another vechile with same rims and as its only a 2wd can have whatever tread pattern you like and can also fit big fuel tanks....... its legal and considered OK untill you start getting all shifty and swapping bits around.
from the LOOKS of what is being said now we will end up with in effect laws that will bring about the INTENTION of what was drafted up years ago
the MSSAs military style semis will be gone for good...no ifs buts or maybes about it this time...the loopholes allowing thumbhole stocks etc will be sealed up tighter than a fish's bumhole..you will be able to use your BAR or mini 14 and it seems the benelli/beretta shotguns and 10/22s will stay too...you poke a 50round mag into that 10/22 and you will be in deep shite...the high capacity mags themselves will probably go.


so the hunting community will carry on as before...its only those who have decided they "need" a black gun that looks tacticool or a shotgun that looks like a plurry AK47 that are going to loose them...and it looks like they will be paid for them

You know what Elvis...I reckon you have hit the nail squarely on the head mate. That is the most accurate description of the problem...all the TACTICOOL Mall Commandos. We have plenty of them out here too mate. Unless your rifle looks like a Barrett .50 Sniper rifle, it won’t be accurate enough to hit a rabbit at 25 metres. I would have to say, 99.9% of conventional rifles come out of the factory with inherently more accuracy than the average shooter could ever improve upon with their TACTICOOL (love that word) bolt on customisation bits and bobs.

Now, the Long Range fraternity might have a whinge, but realistically, very few of us are capable of sub MOA at 300 metres, but most , if not all can shoot “minute of critter” at that range. Anything beyond that is out of the average shooters capability...unless you have a TACTICOOL Z47 laser bedded super long range radar guided .338 RUM zeroed to head shoot rabbits at 87 metres. I see them at the rifle range...hard pressed to group at 100 metres.

So, yep, you are correct Elvis, we have been our own worst enemy in that respect and the “gung-ho” retailers (we have a couple of them out here who like to bend and tie the laws in knots, but never break them), more so than manufacturers have pushed that envelope beyond sensibility.

The extent of my rifle customising has been Woodlands stick on cam vinyl on my Savage .223, for purely practical reasons (not sure what they are yet, but I’m sure it’ll come to me one day).

So yeah, until the Mall Commandos are pulled into line and immonsense laws are applied to firearm ownership, I think there will always be a problem “in the background”.

It is my sincere desire that IT is left to obscurity.
