When I lived in England ('49 - '66) the limit on 22LR was 1000/year, all purchased from the London Armoury. That was where the Anchultz 54 was stored.

at one point in time I would burn through that in a weekend shooting bunnies. context is everything. 250 rounds of shotgun a night was the norm.
