Is there a way to copy a load data sheet and paste it to a new one?
Entering my loads, but many of them are ditto all data except a one grain powder increment. Sure would be nice to not have to reenter all the same data (and risk a typo), just adjust the powder amount for the new load. Thanks for any help.

Gidday mate. Hang in there, DallanC...the BossMan...will be along directly, but he’s a busy man with work and a family, so bear with it mate.

No worries mate! Is that correct or is that only in the movies? I'm in Texas, would like to visit y'all someday! Maybe clink them mugs for real!

I'm a hanging for now. Currently running my load data on paper. Would like to enter all my data into a program like PB, but looking for short cuts otherwise it might be a big project.

Thanks for the reply. Best regards, Doug

Heh Doug,
While you are hanging out I just wanted to let you know that you aren't the only 358 fan here.
I have one built on a Remington 700 action that shoots sub caliber groups at 100 yards and subMOA groups out to 300 yards. It was built to shoot light bullets like 158 JHP sierra pistol bullets and the 180 grain flat point Speer bullets. I am too sensitive to recoil for the heavy bullets - old back injury and three surgeries. It is the only rifle I have over 30 caliber.

Gidday Doug, yes “mate” is correct...a term used the same way buddy is in the US. I was in Texas (Dallas) seven months ago on my six week “trip of a lifetime” to the US. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see much or really enjoy it because I got a toothache from hell that required a root canal. Maybe one day I’ll be able to get back there for a real visit.

You can right click on any load (or firearm for that mater) and choose to "Duplicate". It will create a copy of the existing item. Then you just rename it and change whatever specific data you want.

That's a bummer, nothing like a toothache to take the joy out of life. Although, with your current knee issue the toothache is a long gone issue. Good luck with all.

How do I get all the data in a previous version copied into the most recent version. After a system failure all I have are the data files from the old install and I would like to copy the database.xml file into the newer version but it gets replaced by a blank DB every time I start the program.

Actually all of my old data is not accessible, Bullets, Powder, Cases, Loads, etc.

I've replied to BullseyeB in emails, I hope to figure out why this happens.

AS far as I can tell, this was a user error. I had a system failure and as part of the rebuild, I installed a new copy of PointBlank in the directory where my original copy had been installed and it over wrote all my original files. Then I copied my backups of the original database.xml and user files into the location thinking that the new program would pick them up and use them. It did not and in fact wrote new empty default files over the original files every time I started the Pointblank program. Thus the reason for this message. Fortunately, I found a fairly recent copy of the entire Pointblank directory on another backup disk and now have my files back and Pointblank working great as usual.

The moral of this story is to make sure you have comprehensive backups of anything you don't want to lose. Sometimes just the data is not sufficient and you need the program that created the data as well.
